【Course Objectives】

Through the reading of Ukiyo-soshi, the goal is to grasp the characteristics of early modern literature, to acquire research methods, and to deepen understanding of the culture and customs of the time.

【Course Contents】

We will read "Koshoku Daikagura," an Ukiyo Zoshi by Masuda Ensui, published in 1688. The presenter will give a presentation and answer questions. Presenters will translate and annotate the text, and conduct research on the sources and cultural customs of the time.
