Focusing on gender/sexuality issues, students will read contemporary literary works, at the same time, through closely reading literary works students will consider gender/sexuality issues.
This seminar sheds light on the works which represent the body, desire, relation, way of living that are often regarded as inconsistent with gender/sexuality norms. In so doing we will examine the power dynamics that normalize one type of gender/sexuality at the same time marginalize its other type. We will read the novels of Matsuura Rieko and Murata Sayaka.
After a few lectures, students will make presentations.

ジェンダーやセクシュアリティの問題に注目しながら、現代の文学作品を読む。同時に、文学作品の丁寧な読みを通じて、ジェンダーやセクシュアリティの問題について考える。

この演習では、性規範からはずれるとみなされるような身体や欲望、関係性や生き方を描いた作品に光を当て、現代の日本で、ある性のあり方が主流化され、別の性のあり方が周縁化される際にはたらく力学を検討する。松浦理英子と村田沙耶香の小説を取り上げる。
授業は数回の講義に続き、受講生の発表によって進める。

作品を丁寧に読み、自分自身の解釈を作り上げ、他者に説得的に伝えること。他者の解釈に対して、応答すること。
この授業で取り上げる作品には性的表現を用いたものもある。もっとも、「性的」とは何かということを問いなおすようなものでもあるのだが、履修に際してはこの点に十分に注意すること。
