【Course Objectives】

This course aims to acquire oral presentation materials and methods for oral presentation.
The goal of this course is to read Soseki Natsume's "Sorekara" (1909) through detailed annotations. The goal is for students to acquire the concept and method of annotation.
In this class, in addition to methods of analyzing the novel, we will focus on expressions related to the body in the novel and learn how to relate the text of the novel to criticism and ideas related to gender and identity.

【Course Contents】

Each student will be responsible for annotating and interpreting the work based on various discourses, such as biographical facts, contemporary reviews of the author, things and events depicted in the work, and previous studies.
After the oral presentation, the students will write a report on further development of the content based on the questions and comments received during the presentation.
