Students will read and interpret poems by Shuntaro Tanikawa, Hiroshi Kawasaki, and Kazue Shinkawa.
Shuntaro Tanikawa, known for his translation of the works "Asa no relay" and Swimmy, made his debut in the literary world through an introduction by Tatsuji Miyoshi after World War II. In 1952, he published Two Billion Light-Years of Solitude and became noted as a postwar newcomer. Following that, too, he engaged in various projects with free abandon. The class will study the world of the poems of Shuntaro Tanikawa.
The second half of the class will cover poems by Hiroshi Kawasaki and Kazue Shinkawa, who lived at the same time.

Students will read and interpret poems by Shuntaro Tanikawa, Hiroshi Kawasaki, and Kazue Shinkawa.
詩「朝のリレー」や「スイミー」の翻訳で知られる谷川俊太郎は、第二次世界大戦後、三好達治の紹介によって『文学界』にてデビューします。1952年、『二十億光年の孤独』を刊行し、戦後の新人として注目されました。その後も多様な試みを行い、自由奔放ともいえる展開を見せていきました。そんな谷川俊太郎の詩の世界を、学んでいきたいと思います。
また、授業の後半では、同時代の川崎洋・新川和江の詩を扱います。

予習 個人発表となるので、対象となる作品について先行研究を徹底的に調査し、先行研究のクリティカルリーディングを行い、その上で自らの読みを作り、レジュメを作成する。
復習 必ずフォローアップを行うので、演習の質疑応答にて指摘された質問に対して、再度調査・考察を行い、フォローアップのレジュメを作成する。
