Learn about the characteristics of various waka works, such as private collections, private anthologies, poetry contest, and different types of hyakunin isshu, and deepen your understanding of the various types of waka anthologies. Also develop an appreciation of waka poetry through the compilation of waka anthologies.
In this lecture, students will be asked to work on the compilation of a poetry anthology. First, the various types of waka anthologies will be explained. Then, they will formulate their own compilation policy, compile waka poems, think about the arrangement and titles, learn about the form of Japanese books, and even bind the books. I hope that students will enter the rich and fertile world of waka poetry and experience the interest and depth of classical waka poetry for themselves.

私家集・私撰集・歌合・異種百人一首など様々な和歌作品の特質を学び、多様な歌集のあり方について理解を深める。また歌集編纂を通して鑑賞眼を養う。

本講義では、受講生に歌集の編纂に取り組んでもらう。まず、様々な種類の歌集について解説する。その上で、自分なりの編纂方針を立てて和歌を集成し、配列や題名も考え、和書の形態について学び、製本まで行う。豊穣な和歌の世界に自ら分け入り、古典和歌のおもしろさ、奥深さを実感してほしい。
In this lecture, students will be asked to work on the compilation of a poetry anthology. First, the various types of waka anthologies will be explained. 毎回の講義は、前回までの講義の理解を前提として行われる。講義資料・ノートの見直しなどの復習が求められる。疑問点があれば、コメント提出時に質問すること。質問に対してはフィードバックコメントにより対応する。

６回目までの授業は講義資料・板書等を利用した講義形式で行う。８回目以降は各自で作業に取り組み、最後に自分の編んだ歌集について発表を行う。自分で歌を創作する授業ではないので、誤解のないようにして欲しい。コメントの提出、レポート課題の提示などに「Canvas LMS」を利用する。
