Acquire the basic knowledge and techniques for reading Yuuri-Bungei, which forms a large part of the foundation of early modern literature, as well as accurately judge the results and problems of previous research and try various ways of reading it. By cultivating the applied ability to read, students will develop the ability to accurately read a variety of early modern works.
This class will select Sharebon written in a conversational style, which are unique in the history of Japanese literature, and carefully read them while considering their entertainment value. Students will deepen their understanding of the culture of the Edo period by examining the techniques of Sharebon that depict various aspects of red light district in conversational style, and by interpreting each work from a variety of perspectives.

近世文芸の素地となるものの内で、大きな一部を占める遊里文芸を読解する基礎的な知識と技法を身につけるとともに、先行研究の成果と問題点を正確に判断し多様な読解を試みることのできる応用的能力を養うことで、近世の多様な作品を的確に読みこなす能力を養成する。

日本文学史上ユニークな存在である、会話体で叙述された洒落本を採り上げ、その娯楽性を検討しつつ精読する。遊里の諸相を会話体文で描出する洒落本の技法を検討しながら、各作品をさまざまな視点から読み解くことによって、江戸時代の文化に対する理解を深める。
