【Course Objectives】

The explosive growth and proliferation of the Internet and electronic media has brought the presence of books and magazines into a phase of decline. This has forced publishers to change their work styles. On the other hand, at the base of book and magazine making is the idea of 'editing'. And in this, there is an intrinsic strength that will be not be affected by changes in the media environment. Our goal is to acquire a sense of editing that can be applied not only to publishing, but also to their work and social lives.

【Course Contents】

Throughout each lesson, we will examine the overall picture and the essence of the publishing business from various angles. Publishing is both a business and a cultural creation, and many publishers struggle to reconcile the two. While the focus will be on the editorial work that is at the heart of publishing practice, the course will also deepen our understanding of the historical and social meaning of publishing.
