【Course Objectives】

The course objective is to offer the students with conceptual and analytical tools for the analysis of the characteristics, challenges and opportunities of complex family-owned business situations, and for the generation of appropriate management actions and implementation plans.

【Course Contents】

The course focuses on the characteristics, strategic goals and governance mechanisms of family-owned businesses in complex business environments and on the challenges and opportunities associated with such management issues. The issues discussed range from small and very small family-owned businesses to large family firms. The course analyzes the drivers and triggers of family business longevity in the internationalization process and examines its strategic and managerial consequences.
