【Course Objectives】

After taking this course, you will be able to understand how Europe once realized the modern economic growth that resulted in the industrialization, and thereby you will comprehend the development model as well as the economic system characteristic in Europe.

【Course Contents】

Europe is the first region in the world to undergo modern economic growth—in other words economic growth that directly links to today. Therefore, studying European economic history leads to a deep understanding of the contemporary economic framework, economic growth, and people’s economic lives and abundance.
In this lecture students consider why modern economic growth started in Europe and focuses on the rules played by such economic agents as people, businesses, and national governments. That will reveal the characteristics of the European economy.
A long time span from ancient times to today will be looked at while focuses on various regions within Europe to acquire a broad knowledge and perspective.
Each lecture consists of 20 minutes livestream (introduction, answer to questions etc.) and 50-70 minutes lecture video (the rest time you can use for assignment).
* Depending on the situation, the whole lecture can be delivered live.
