The objective is this class is to learn the components of cost and how to calculate the cost of ordered products. These are effective tools for “being able to conduct data analysis and information processing related to the economy, accounting, and economic policy,” which is the No. 4 requirement for receiving a degree from the College of Economics. In addition, learning the components of cost will enable students to analyze the business models of companies they see around them and “be able to historically and theoretically consider economic phenomena,” which is the No. 2 requirement for receiving a degree from the College of Economics.
In this class students learn the significance and purpose of cost calculation and then the fundamental matters of cost calculation, which are cost requirements. Next, an explanation will be given of materials costs, labor costs, and expenses, which are cost components, and in conclusion individual cost calculation, which is a method for calculating the cost of order-made products (ordered products) will be covered. The class will also consider familiar company business models, such as men’s clothing mass retailers and LCC from the perspective of cost calculation. Each time a resume will be distributed together with practice problems and their answers.

この授業は、原価の構成要素を知り、受注製品の原価の集計方法を身につけることを目標とします。これらは、経済学部の学位授与方針の４「経済・経済政策・会計に関するデータ分析・情報処理を行うことができる」ための有効な道具となります。また、原価の構成要素を学習することにより、身近にみられる企業のビジネス・モデルを分析する力も身につき、経済学部の学位授与方針の２「経済現象を歴史的・理論的に考察することができる」ようになります。

この授業では、まず原価計算の意義と目的、原価の要件といった原価計算の基礎的事項についてみていきます。次に原価の構成要素である材料費、労務費、経費について解説を行い、最終的にオーダーメイドの製品（受注製品）の原価集計方法である個別原価計算についてみていきます。また、紳士服量販店、LCCの事例といった身近な企業のビジネス・モデルについても原価計算の視点から考えていきます。各回、レジュメを配布するとともに、練習問題とその解答も配布します。
