The purpose of this course is to enable students to consider the present state of modern companies and various management issues from a historical point of view by studying the history of big businesses and business organizations in Japan.
We will look at the Japanese business history from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. Especially we will focus on the historical background of the formation of modern companies and the characteristics of the business management.

日本の大企業の経営や経営組織の歴史を学ぶことを通して、現代の企業が置かれている状況や、企業をめぐる諸問題を歴史的な視点から考察できる。
The purpose of this course is to enable students to consider the present state of modern companies and various management issues from a historical point of view by studying the history of big businesses and business organizations in Japan.
１９世紀後半から２０世紀後半までの日本の企業経営の歴史を解説する。とくに、現代の大企業が形成された歴史的背景と、その企業経営の特徴について注目する。
We will look at the Japanese business history from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. Especially we will focus on the historical background of the formation of modern companies and the characteristics of the business management.
