In this course, students will learn about laws that govern static electricity and magnetism. Students will understand an example of the physics framework by studying the theory of the electromagnetism.
Students will learn Coulomb's law and Biot-Savart law as start. Then they study electric and magnetic fields. Students will understand Gauss's law and Ampere's law and then apply them to some exercises. Students will understand divergence and rotation of electric and magnetic fields, as well as gradient, and learn Maxwell's equations in static conditions.

物理学の基礎となる重要な学問の一つである電磁気学のうち，主に静電場と静磁場を理解する。
In this course, students will learn about laws that govern static electricity and magnetism. Students will understand an example of the physics framework by studying the theory of the electromagnetism.
電磁気学は，マックスウェルの方程式で記述できる，完成した学問体系である。また，電磁気力は，身の回りから，宇宙現象まで多くの場面で，重要な働きをする。さらには，我々の身の回りの電気製品をはじめとして多くの物は，電磁気学を基礎に作られている。この，重要でかつ身の回りで直接に効果が認識できる物理の学問体系を，「電磁気学１」と「電磁気学２」で学び，物理学の縮図を実感してもらいたい。「電磁気学１」では，クーロンの法則，ガウスの法則，ビオ・サバールの法則，アンペールの法則を場という概念で捉え，静電場，静磁場の基本法則として体系的に学習する。
