・Students will be able to correctly summarize and comment on literatures.
・Students will learn the proper ways to participate in seminars, deepen each other’s understanding through discussions, create summaries and reports.
・Students will observe phenomena around them such as education and school to acquire basic sociology perspective.
Is education always good? Is there something we miss when pursuing goodness? Can we really solve educational problems by improving education? What can education do and what can't it do? What role does education play in society?
In this seminar, students will read literatures related to these questions and exchange their opinions with others to deepen their understanding. Students will also think about current state of education and its relationship with society in broad manner.

・文献の内容を的確にまとめ、内容についてコメントできるようになる。
・レジュメの作成や報告の仕方、議論を通じて互いの理解を深め合う演習の「お作法」を身につける。
・比較的身近なはずの教育や学校という事象を通して、社会学的なものの見方の基礎を身につける。

教育は常に「善い」ものなのだろうか？「善さ」が追及されるなかで見えなくなってしまうものはないだろうのか？教育には何ができて、何ができないのか？社会の中で教育はどのような役割を果たしているのだろうか？
この演習では、このような問いを扱った文献を読み、受講生同士で意見を交換することで理解を深め、広く教育のあり方と社会の関係を考えていきます。
