Students will acquire basic knowledge about characteristics of existing Japanese social security system and its problems. After that, students will acquire knowledge require to think about trends and choices when reconstructing the system.
Japanese social security system is facing various problems, including poverty, social exclusion, employment instability, long working hours, low birth rate, aging population, and social isolation. These not only destroy individual’s peace of mind and social solidarity, but also bring great negative impact on economy. How did it fall into its current state? And how should the current system be rebuilt?
In this lecture, students will study data, cases, and trends in other developed countries. They will think about fundamental trends and choices towards reforms from multiple angles. Students will acquire basic knowledge necessary to think about these issues.

これまでの日本の社会保障システムが、どのような特徴を持ち、現在どういう問題に直面しているのかに関する基本的な知識を習得する。その上で、再構築の方向性や選択肢を考えるための知識を身につけることを目標にする。

日本の社会保障システムは、現在、貧困や社会的排除、雇用の不安定化、長時間労働、少子高齢化、孤立など、多くの問題に直面している。それらは、個人の安心や社会的連帯を毀損するだけでなく、経済にも大きなマイナスの影響を与えている。なぜそのような事態に陥ってしまったのか。また、現状のシステムをどのような方向で再構築するべきなのだろうか。
本講義ではデータや事例、他の先進国の動向も踏まえながら、改革のための基本的な方向性や選択肢を多角的に検討し、この問題を考える上での基本的な知識を習得することを目指す。
