Students will focus on regional societies in modern cities. Students will deepen their theoretical and practical understanding aboutdeclining, aging society, co-existence with various different people, social changes affected by regional economy and policy, and theirrelationships with our civil lives.
In this seminar, students will cultivate their perspective to discuss and analyze various conditions as a whole while consideringrelationships among these elements. Students will look at actualities of various social lives unrolling in regions, current policies and issuesof local governments, how they support daily lives of people, community organizations, and various volunteer and NPO activities. Studentswill learn systematically about “What facilitates and makes our lives possible?” To do that, students will widen their perspective by readingsome textbooks in the first half of this seminar. During summer vacation, students will participate in seminar camp to discuss and deepentheir interests about their own research themes.

主に現代都市の地域社会に目を向け,少子高齢化,異質な他者との共生,地域の経済や政策等による社会の変容と市民生活の関連性について理論的,実践的に理解を深めることを目指す。

このゼミでは,地域の中でさまざまに展開している社会生活の実情,人びとの日常の暮らしをサポートしている自治体の諸政策の現状と課題,町内会等の地域団体や各種ボランティア・NPOの活動などを,「一つの全体」として相互関連的に検討し,分析する視点を養っていく。「私たちの生活は何によって可能となり展開するか?」をシステマティックに知ることを目指したい。そのために,ゼミの前半は共通テキストの講読により視野を広げ,夏休みに実施するゼミ合宿での討議を経て各人の問題関心を深める。

テキストの講読においては,報告者,討議者,司会などの役割をゼミ生が順次担当する。活発な討議を通じ理解を深めるために,事前の予習を十分にしておくこと。専門演習2Bのグループ研究では,図書や文献資料を自ら調べたり,大学外のフィールドに積極的に出て調査したりすることを推奨する。
