Students will be able to explain what environmental education is. Students will understand background of environmental education, its historical timeline, various implementations in Japan and overseas, and its basic concept. Students will learn about roles of environmental education in shaping sustainable society in the future.
Environmental education(including its developed form, Environmentally Sustainable Development ESD) is essential in leading sustainable society . Students will deepen their understanding about environmental education (and ESD) by reading about its origin and development in contexts of environmental issues in Japan and overseas. Students will study and discuss about various cases, notably contribution of environmental education in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs = implementation adopted by UN, governments, and industries in 2016) and its critical roles in revitalizing Japanese regions.

Students will be able to explain what environmental education is. Students will understand background of environmental education, its historical timeline, various implementations in Japan and overseas, and its basic concept. Students will learn about roles of environmental education in shaping sustainable society in the future.
持続可能な社会の担い手に不可欠な環境教育（さらにはその発展形であるESD=持続可能な開発のための教育）について、その生まれた背景と発展についてなど基礎的な事項を学ぶとともに、環境教育の実践事例を通じてその理解を深める。また、環境教育が持続可能な開発目標の達成や国内の持続可能な地域づくりに大きな役割を果たしていることなどを事例を交えて検討する。環境問題や持続可能な開発に関する諸問題についても触れる。

オンラインと対面の併用。パワーポイント・板書を使った講義、映像資料を見ながらの解説、参加型の講義、ワークショップによる教材体験やディスカッション、授業内発表を行います。授業に積極的に参加する態度を歓迎します。
毎回のコメントペーパーで受け付けた意見や質問、課題へのコメントは次回の授業でフィードバックします。
受講者の関心や受講人数に合わせて授業内容を変更することがあります。
