Students will understand the behavior of reporting while recognizing the importance of its functions in modern democratic society. At the same time, they will understand the limits and issues surrounding reporting. In addition, students will understand the basics of article writing.
Why society needs reporting? What meaning does it have? Students will refer to these in their arguments while adding in perspectives of Japanese journalism characteristics and international comparisons. In this class, students will also consider field experience of reporters on site. Students will experience writing articles themselves while thinking about these basics.

報道という営為がどのようなものかを理解するとともに、その機能が現代民主主義社会の中で有する重要性を認識してもらいます。同時に報道の限界や問題点などについても理解します。その上で、記事執筆の基本についても会得してもらい、実際に文章を執筆してもらいます。

報道は社会にとってなぜ必要なのか､どういう意味を持つのかなどの論点を軸に､日本型ジャーナリズムの特質とその国際比較という視点も織り込みながら､現役記者として ｢現場感覚｣ を加味しながらの授業とします｡また､記事執筆を実際に体験してもらいながら､その基本について考えていきます｡

| 4 | 分野別報道の現状と課題＝政治、経済、国際など報道を分野別に考え、その問題点などを、事例に即して検討していきます。 |
| 5 | 調査報道とは何か＝調査報道について、具体例を通じて、その意義などについて吟味します。 |
| 6 | 記事の基本その１＝「５Ｗ１Ｈ」や「三角形の原則」など、記事執筆の基本原則を考えます。 |

| 参考文献はその都度授業中に示します。 ただ、紙の新聞については、一紙で結構ですので毎日読むようにしてください。朝日でも毎日でも何でも結構です。自宅でとっていない場合は、大学や地域の図書館で読むように努めてください。 |
