【Course Objectives】

Students will learn the fundamentals of sociological thinking and writing in media studies, as well as participate in seminar-style discussions.

【Course Contents】

In the first half of the course, students will read literature on traditional mass media. In the second half of the course, students will read literature, mostly in English, on social media, including LINE, X(Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube. Students will learn the fundamental skills needed for successful study and research, such as how to create resumes, give presentations, and facilitate conversations. The format of the exercises will be centered on group work.
