The objectives of this course are as follows: 1) to learn basic ideas of Media Sociology and Gender Theory; 2) to acquire the ability to read textbooks and the basics of seminar; 3) to develop the ability to hear other's opinions and to communicate yours.
In this course, students will question the media from the perspective of "Gender" and consider the issues and aspects of today's information society. First, students will read and discuss common textbooks and literature on "Media and Gender". In addition, a guest speaker will be invited to lecture on "Media and Gender" and discuss the topic with students.

本授業は、「ジェンダー」という視点からメディアをとらえることで、現代の情報化社会の抱える問題点や諸相を考えていく。
文献講読の前半はメディア社会学科の共通教材を扱い、後半は「メディアとジェンダー」をテーマにした文献を扱う。
授業の終盤には、メディアの現場で働くゲストスピーカーによる「メディアとジェンダー 」をテーマにした講義と受講者との意見交換の機会を持つことを予定している。
