Students will read literature containing multicultural perspectives such as minority, ethnicity, gender, and so on. Students will be able to think and analyze current state of modern society and media.
In this seminar, students will read major literature on multiculturalism and mass media, watch documentaries, make presentations, and discuss to deepen their awareness.
Students will explore current state of media and journalism in modern Japanese society through keywords such as multicultural coexistence, person involved, community, region, gender, ethnicity, and diaspora. Students will discuss about these issues during the seminar and grasp core of the issue.
In autumn semester, students will form groups and conduct surveys. Each group will decide a subject. Students are supposed to collect and analyze data based on their research interests and finish survey reports before the end of the semester.

マイノリティ，エスニシティ，ジェンダー、文化的多様性など，ダイバシティの視点を含めた文献資料の講読を通して，現代社会とメディアのあり方を考察し，分析できるようになること。

ゼミではダイバシティとマスメディアに関連する主要な文献の講読およびドキュメンタリー作品の視聴を中心に，発表と議論を通して認識を深めていく。
多文化共生，当事者，コミュニティ，地域，ジェンダー，エスニシティ，ディアスポラなどのキーワードから現代日本社会におけるメディアとジャーナリズムのあり方を捉え直すと，どのような課題や可能性が見えてくるのか。ゼミではこれらの問題を中心に議論し，問題の核心を把握していく。
専門演習２Ｂにおいては受講生がグループを構成して調査活動を行う。各グループでテーマを決め，独自の視点からデータを収集し，分析と解釈の作業を進める。合宿や演習の場での研究発表会を予定し，議論と質疑応答を行う。学生による研究成果は調査報告書にまとめることを求める。
