This seminar focuses on the changes to media culture brought about by globalization and transnationalization and the digitalization of media technology (the rapid spread of the Internet and social networking services). Students will acquire theoretical and methodological knowledge about the relationship between media, society, and culture. In addition, students will improve their research ability required to write their graduation theses through the subject of media, society, and culture in the digital media environment. Students will do this by researching in small groups, discovering research questions, designing survey planning, conducting them, making presentations, discussing, and writing research theses.
In this seminar, students will study research themes and issues related to the globalization and transnationalization of media culture. The course will proceed in the form of summary presentations and discussions of the literature read in rotation. In the second half of the semester, students will be divided into groups to engage in collaborative research, and workshops will focus on research presentations.

グローバル化、トランスナショナル化という社会の変化とメディアテクノロジーのデジタル化（インターネットやSNSの急速な普及）がもたらすメディア文化への変化に注目する。先行研究のレビューを通して，「メディアと社会・文化」の関係について理論的・方法論的知識を学ぶ。小集団による研究に取り組み，研究問題の発見，調査計画の設計および遂行，プレゼンテーションおよび討論，研究論文の執筆に至る研究の流れを体験しながら，卒論執筆に求められる研究力を磨く。

グローバル化とメディア及びポピュラーカルチャーに関わる研究テーマと問題意識，そして先行研究の動向を学習する。輪読文献の報告と討論の形式で進める。後半では、グループに分かれて共同研究に取り組み、研究プレゼンテーションを中心としたワークショップを行う。
