Observing and discussing musical phenomea in various societies in order to cultivate the basic skills of sociological research.
The course will provide basic concepts of sociology of music. Students will be expected to tackle a series of subjects such as theme setting, problem identification, establishing a hypothesis, reference collection, verification, and report writing.<BR> At the end of the fiscal year, we will compile the report collection. It is strongly expected that these reports will act as a core of the graduation thesis of the following academic year.

様々な文化・社会における音楽現象に注目し，その意味や機能について考察することを通じて，社会学的な視点から対象を論じるための基礎的な力を養う。また次年度の卒論執筆に向けアカデミックライティングの基本を身につける。
Observing and discussing musical phenomea in various societies in order to cultivate the basic skills of sociological research.
この授業は「音楽社会学」のゼミである。受講生は自らの興味・関心に沿って独自テーマを定め，問題提起，仮説設定，資料収集，先行文献読解，検証，そして報告書執筆に至る一連の課題に取り組む。また作業の進捗に応じて互いに成果を報告し合い，意見を交わすことで内容のブラッシュアップを図る。
年度末には１年間の成果をまとめた報告書（12,000字）を提出する。この年度末報告書は次年度の卒業論文へと発展的に広がっていく核となることが強く期待される。
