【Course Objectives】

An introductory course to acquire the basics of comprehensive German language skills. It aims to enable beginning learners of the German language to understand its characteristics and to use the four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) at a basic level.
The aims of this course are based on the description of A1 of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and determined as follows:
1. Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
2. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.
3. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

【Course Contents】

In this course students will learn comprehensively not only the basic grammatical knowledge of German but also linguistic performance (skills like speaking, listening, reading and writing), by cooperative learning with their classmates in pair work and group work. Moreover, to develop pluricultural and plurilinguistic skills, they will gain more insight of social and cultural knowledge by contrasting with their native lands.
