【Course Objectives】

Students will be able to understand key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to analyze intercultural communication.

【Course Contents】

This course introduces key concepts and theories of intercultural communication, and students will learn how to apply them to critically analyze social issues related to intercultural communication and everyday intercultural communication. Through such analyses, students will explore appropriate and effective ways to engage in intercultural communication. Topics covered in class will include communication, culture, values, nonverbal communication, identity, stereotypes, prejudice, sense of time and space, interpersonal communication, organizational communication, intercultural adaptation, media, and intergenerational communication.
