In the fall semester of their second year, students will study abroad in a country or region where English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese or Korean is spoken in order to improve their proficiency in their second language and their ability to cope with different cultures.
Students will begin preparing and attending briefings and the like for individual countries starting in the spring semester of their first year. In the fall semester of their first year, students will determine the universities at which they want to study abroad, and submit applications. In the spring semester of their second year, students will take courses (CS3A-R or CS3B-R) to strengthen their abilities in the languages spoken in the countries they chose for their study abroad, and participate in orientations and other events held for destination countries in advance of their time abroad.
