The goal of this seminar is to gain a higher knowledge about visual art, visual expressions, or various forms of visual culture, to grasp the appropriate social and cultural contexts of the artworks, and to be able to make in-depth multifaceted analyses of them.
Students will choose one or a few theme(s) about art or visual culture that they will explore individually and collectively through a variety of activities such as reading texts, watching videos, browsing artworks on the internet, or visiting museums and monuments, They will discuss, write essays or make a presentation on the given theme.

美術と視覚文化についてより専門的な知識を獲得し、作品や作者や視覚文化の事例について、社会的、文化的コンテクストを的確にとらえ、総合的な考察ができるようになる。

履修生と相談の上、美術または視覚表現に関係するテーマを設定し、そのテーマをめぐる様々な活動を通じて、多面的な考察をプレゼンテーション、ディスカッション、小エッセイ等の成果とし発表してゆく。
