The course aims to (1) provide students with specific knowledge of the key issues debated among intellectuals in the post-World War II period and (2) equip them with general research methods in the field of political thought and intellectual history.
This course analyses various debates by post-war Japanese thinkers on the political system, social structure, modernisation and democracy, and studies their political background and intellectual environment. It will also consider how the study of past thought can be useful in examining contemporary political issues.

第一に、第二次大戦後の日本の知識人による思想的論争の具体的な内容を知ること。第二に、政治思想および思想家研究のためのより一般的な研究手法を学ぶこと。
The course aims to (1) provide students with specific knowledge of the key issues debated among intellectuals in the post-World War II period and (2) equip them with general research methods in the field of political thought and intellectual history.
政治体制、社会構造、近代化, 民主主義についての戦後日本の思想家によるさまざまな議論を分析し、その政治的背景、知的環境について学ぶ。また現代政治の諸問題を考察するために、過去の思想の研究がどのように役立つのかを考える。
This course analyses various debates by post-war Japanese thinkers on the political system, social structure, modernisation and democracy, and studies their political background and intellectual environment. It will also consider how the study of past thought can be useful in examining contemporary political issues.

参考文献を授業内で紹介する。予習・復習としてそれに目を通しておくこと。講義で用いる資料については、講義の前にCanvas LMSを通じて入手できるよう通知するので、各自ノートパソコン、タブレットなどに取り込んで目を通しておくこと。授業にノートパソコン、タブレットを持ち込んで参照しながら受講するのが望ましい。また「Canvas LMS」を通じて質問・コメントを提出できるよう、課題設定をする。指示に従ってそれを提出すること。
