【Course Objectives】

The goal of this course is for students to acquire theories, principles, and analytical perspectives on administrative organizations and to be able to apply them to understanding various problems in the real world. In addition, this course is designed to teach students the peculiarities of the public service, the ethics unique to the public service, and public values.

【Course Contents】

In this course, students will learn empirical theories about administrative organizations such as national ministries and local governments. Empirical theory in the social sciences refers to the kind of logic that explains the activities of administrative organizations and bureaucrats, and the kind of perspective that makes it easier to understand patterns of behavior in administrative organizations. Public Administration I is more political science oriented, and content related to the management of administrative organizations is covered in Public Administration II. It is recommended to take the courses as a set if possible.
