【Course Objectives】

The Objective of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills of negotiation., and skills for writing a short essay, presentation and discussion.

【Course Contents】

This seminar is designed for those who have already taken negotiation studies and will further deepen their understanding through role-plays based on a close reading of specialized literature on key issues in negotiation studies. The students will also learn the basic skills of facilitative mediation, in which a third party acts as a mediator to facilitate negotiations in the event of an impasse.
All students are required to submit a paper at each session. In addition, students will be asked to prepare their own role-play materials (common and confidential matters) as a summer assignment.
In the spring semester, we will cover specific examples of how to deal with heated up or strong emotional situations during negotiations and how to create value through integrated negotiation. In the fall semester, students will learn how to deal with cases of strong emotional conflict or difficult value creation by bringing in a mediator, and in the second half of the semester, they will read through " Getting to Yes".
This class assumes that students already have a basic understanding of negotiation studies, so only students who have already taken negotiation studies seminar (including Introduction to Negotiation, etc.) are eligible for this class. Please note that due to the limited capacity of the class, even students who have already taken the negotiation studies seminar may not be able to continue the course.
