The objectives of this seminar are to enhance participants' abilities in academic research, including presentation and communication skills, and to raise their awareness with critical perspectives on global issues through the study of the EU's role in global governance.
The EU has actively participated in shaping global governance on issues such as climate change, the digital economy, social justice, and multilateralism, guided by European values. However, recent geopolitical confrontations and serious divisions worldwide challenge the resilience of such a strategy.
The seminar's contents include an initial exploration of essential information regarding the EU's relevant policies. Subsequently, participants will delve into specific issue areas based on their individual interests, with an eye towards the future world the EU envisions.
Practical components encompass literature and material reading, investigative activities, group and individual presentations and discussions, report writing, and engagement with guest speakers and students from other departments/universities to broaden perspectives."

地政学的対立、気候変動、民主主義の危機といったグローバルな課題に対する欧州連合（EU）の取組みをテーマとして、情報収集と分析、討論と対話、プレゼンテーション、レポート作成から成るアカデミックリサーチの技能を向上させるとともに、今日的課題に対する問題意識と批判的視点を育成する。
The objectives of this seminar are to enhance participants' abilities in academic research, including presentation and communication skills, and to raise their awareness with critical perspectives on global issues through the study of the EU's role in global governance.
EUはヨーロッパの価値に基づき、気候変動、デジタル経済、社会的公正、多国間主義といったグローバルな課題分野のガバナンス形成を目指してきた。だが地政学的対立の激化とこれら分野における世界の分断により、EUのグローバル戦略のレジリエンスが今試されている。
この演習ではEUについての基本知識を習得した後、各自が関心を持つ分野において、ヨーロッパの描く未来はどのようなものか、何故そのような未来像を追求するのかを解明し、その実効性と限界、日本への影響を考察する。
具体的には、関連文献講読と討論、グループ及び個人による調査とプレゼンテーション、レポートの執筆を行う。さらに、ゲストスピーカー（EUの外交官等）や他学部・他大学の学生との交流、ヨーロッパ関連のイベントへの参加を通じて、多様な見解・価値観・文化に触れる機会も提供していく。なお2024年はEUの選挙の年であり、その仕組み、結果と影響についてもリアルタイムに検討していく。

毎回のテーマに関し、情報を収集し自らの意見や疑問点をまとめておくこと。
EUやヨーロッパについての最新の動向についてアンテナを張っておくこと。
EUのウェブサイトやメディア報道等を通じて、英語に触れておくこと。（リサーチは日本語の資料が中心でも構わないが、必要に応じて英語資料も活用できればなお良い。）
グループワークは、メンバーのスケジュールを調整して時間外にも協力して行うこと。

①題目：本演習の志望動機：なぜEU（またはヨーロッパ）について学ぶのか
②字数：1200字前後
演習論文：実施しない
＜注意事項＞
夏合宿、他大学との合同セミナー等（時間外・任意参加）を開催予定。参加は任意であるが、日程が確定すれば演習時間にその準備とフォローアップを行う可能性がある。またEU関連の事件の勃発や 他大学、ゲストスピーカーの都合などにより授業計画が前後にずれることも想定される。さらに演習後の議論の継続やグループワーク等で５限を利用する可能性がある（教室は確保・参加は任意）。
