【Course Objectives】

(1) To acquire a basic knowledge of the major world religions and their contemporary global implications
(2) To enhance academic proficiency by cultivating research, note-taking, and presentation skills through collaborative efforts with fellow participants
(3) To improve English language skills

【Course Contents】

Languages:
The course will be conducted bilingually in Japanese and simple English. While you are encouraged to take notes and give presentations in English, feel free to use Japanese as needed. During pair work sessions, bilingual communication is expected, whereas group discussions will be conducted in Japanese. Regardless of you confidence level in English, you are welcome to join us.

Active learning:
This course places a strong emphasis on student autonomy. Lectures from the instructor will be rare, as the focus is on your explaining what you have learned about your research topics. Each class will involve working independently, in pairs, and in groups.

In-class tasks and assignments:
Various student-centered tasks, including research note-taking, mind mapping, and mini-presentations will be assigned.

Research Materials:
The instructor will furnish a list of research materials both in class and online. Alternatively, you have the option to conduct your own material search.Languages:
