There are two aims of this lecture for students. One is that students will be able to recognize the dangers that they try to solve social problems of concerning to children’s behavior by blaming someone else, for example, teachers and parents. Another is that students will be able to understand that there can be various aspects of reality that differ from the dominant discourse on children's behavior.
The media often make Children's problems, such as juvenile delinquency and bullying problem, social problems. We then pay attention to these social problems and through them we tend to blame the responsibility of the school why the social problem was happened. However, doesn't this way of understanding blind us to the various aspects of reality that we are able to select when we try to understand children and school education?
At first, we will start to discuss this question. Then, we will approach the point that there are various aspects of understanding a reality while we refer to the claim-making activities through the media and the experiences of people who involves in them. At last, we will spread our perspective into the fundamental issue that adult make Children's problems. Because it is not easy for children to explain themselves to others and most of adult believe that they need to decide the best way for children.

いじめ問題を中心に、子どもの問題に対して誰かを非難することで問題解決を図ろうとすることの危うさを認識し、子どもの問題をめぐる支配的な言説とは異なる現実の諸相がありうることを理解できるようになる。

私たちは、社会問題化した出来事を媒介に、現代の子どもの姿を悲嘆したり、学校教育のあり方を非難したりする。しかし、こうした理解のあり方は、子どもや学校教育の複雑な現実をかえって見えなくさせているのではないだろうか。授業の前半では、この疑問を出発点に、ある出来事のメディア報道や様々な立場の当事者の経験を参照し、現実の多層性に接近する。授業の後半は、子どもに関わる問題とは、子ども以外の周囲の大人が「問題」と捉えていくことで作られていくという原理的な課題に視点を広げていく。
