Through learning and experiencing deaf people and sign language, students will acquire new perspectives for thinking about symbiotic society.
We will consider deaf people as language and cultural minorities, sign language as natural language, and look at the mechanisms and structures specifically. We also deal with the relationships between deaf people, sign language and society from the aspects of education, law, and human rights, etc.

ろう者、手話について知り、経験することを通して、共生社会を考えるための新たな視点を獲得する。
Through learning and experiencing deaf people and sign language, students will acquire new perspectives for thinking about symbiotic society.
ろう者を言語・文化的少数者として、手話を自然言語として捉え、その仕組み、構造を具体的にみていく。またろう者・手話と社会の関わりについて、教育、法、人権などの側面から扱う。
We will consider deaf people as language and cultural minorities, sign language as natural language, and look at the mechanisms and structures specifically. We also deal with the relationships between deaf people, sign language and society from the aspects of education, law, and human rights, etc.
