【Course Objectives】

Through classes, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the history and current state of multiculturalization of Japanese society, taking into account the foreign acceptance system, culture, and social background. Students will also be able to have their own point of view and think about the issue of "multicultural coexistence" in modern Japanese society.

【Course Contents】

In modern society, people, goods, money, and information move across borders and are deeply intertwined with our daily lives. In this class, you will learn about Japan's concept of "multicultural coexistence," based on the development of modern Japanese policies and administration. Then, we will observe the multicultural situation in Japan.The keywords for this class are the phenomena of human movement: repatriates, immigrants, refugees, and foreigners.
