【Course Objectives】

Upon completion of the course, students will have a basic ability to analyze the issues of politics, military and security in Taiwan, China and Japan, and Japan-China-US-Taiwan relations by utilizing their improved knowledge of a variety of issues in East Asia gained from the course.

【Course Contents】

This course provides detailed lectures on the issues of Taiwan, China and Japan that poses strong power in politics, economy and security in East Asia. The course is designed to spend more time on Taiwan-related issues and take a several types of activities, including discussion, case study and role-playing, to understand the issues from various aspects. Each class includes: 1) Reaction and questions from previous class (10 mins), 2) Lecture (50 mins), 3) Activity (30 mins), and 4) Writing reaction paper (10 mins).
