In Japan, there is a lot of untrue information, myths, and groundless prejudices being spread about the Korean Peninsula. This class aims to provide students with basic knowledge and information appropriate for university study, based on past research results in history, politics, sociology, etc. Students will also learn how to access such basic research.
The relationship between the Korean Peninsula and Japan is deep historically. In this class, we will learn about the society and politics of North and South Korea, but we will also learn about how this relates to Japan. We will also consider how Japan's perception of the Korean Peninsula is shaped by such relationships.

朝鮮半島に関して日本では、事実と異なる情報、俗説、根拠のない偏見が多く流布されている。この授業ではこれまでの歴史学、政治学、社会学などの研究成果に基づき、大学での学びにふさわしい基礎的な知識や情報を知ることをめざす。またそうした基礎研究へのアクセスの方法を学んでいく。

朝鮮半島と日本との関わりは歴史的に深いものがある。本授業は南北朝鮮の社会や政治について学ぶものであるが、それが日本とどのような関わりがあるかも含めて学んでいく。また、そうした関わりによって日本での朝鮮半島に対する認識が形成されている点についても考察する。
The relationship between the Korean Peninsula and Japan is deep historically. In this class, we will learn about the society and politics of North and South Korea, but we will also learn about how this relates to Japan. We will also consider how Japan's perception of the Korean Peninsula is shaped by such relationships.
