【Course Objectives】

By looking back on the history of minorities in modern Japan while focusing on the Buraku problem, we will help students to acquire a "sensitivity toward others" and deepen their understanding of human rights issues.

【Course Contents】

We will provide lectures on the history of Okinawa, gender, leprosy, etc. in modern society from the Meiji Restoration to the present, focusing on the problem of Buraku discrimination that will be most difficult to understand, and questioning the state of modern society in Japan.
