This course aims to provide students a basic understanding of tourism mainly focusing on the concept of sustainable tourism and responsible travel practices.
The first half of the course (class 2~8) discusses the basic concepts of tourism and the development of tourism industry analyzing statistics from various sources. The second half of the course (class 9~14) argues the impacts of tourism and the concept of sustainable tourism using case studies (mainly from Sri Lanka and Japan) and group discussions.
