【Course Objectives】

Students explore how “knowledge” is created, disseminated, and replicated in society for the following objectives:
a)To gain a deeper insight into what constitutes knowledge,
b)To learn how it impacts our perspectives, beliefs, and values, and
c)To understand the limitations of knowledge making processes

【Course Contents】

In this project-based course, students will learn about one epistemological orientation (i.e., interpretivism) and conduct a hands-on qualitative study (i.e., interview research). To experience knowledge making processes and understand its limitations, students will study basic principles of interview research, choose a research topic, conduct an interview, analyze data, and present results.
