The aim of this course is to learn the history of sports coverage in Japan and to consider what the media should be in a new era.
The lecturer of this course is the Mainichi Shimbun editorial writer, who has been a sports reporter for a long time. He will give a lecture on the role of the press and the relationship between sports and the media, based on his own experience. As the media enters a period of change due to the development of social networking service (SNS) via the Internet, we will also look into the future of sports journalism.

日本におけるスポーツ報道の歴史を学び、新しい時代のメディアがどうあるべきかを考察する。
The aim of this course is to learn the history of sports coverage in Japan and to consider what the media should be in a new era.
スポーツ記者を長く務めてきた毎日新聞論説委員が、スポーツとメディアの関係や報道の役割について、自らの経験も踏まえて講義する。インターネットによるＳＮＳの発展でメディアが変革期を迎える中、スポーツジャーナリズムの将来も展望していく。
