【Course Objectives】

By learning about the configuration of information devices, operating principles, characteristics and problems of data processing methods, and accidental factors caused by human operators, you can prevent incidents. Understand the factors that cause this, and consider the points that should be kept in mind for safe use.

【Course Contents】

Security threats include physical threats, technological threats, and human threats, and among these, we will deal with physical threats, including failures and deterioration over time, and accidental threats caused by humans without intention. We will discuss slowdowns in processing speed, failures, and loss of saved data as physical threats, and will explain the mechanisms and characteristics of storage media such as processing units, memory, and SSDs as factors that cause these, and will also explain how to prevent information leaks. We will also introduce how to erase data.
We will also discuss authentication based on knowledge, possession, and biometrics to prevent unauthorized use, and explain the characteristics and problems of each authentication factor, how to deal with those problems, and cases where risk countermeasures conversely cause accidental threats. Learn the key points for controlling security while balancing safety and efficiency.
