The purpose of this course is to learn Sets and Maps as a basic mathematical language with related topics on Probability, in particular, aiming to be able to suitably define and calculate Probability using the words of Sets and Maps.
Probability is a usual word which is used in daily life. In mathematics, Probability is strictly defined in the words of Sets and Maps. Sets and Maps are indispensable words in mathematics as a language of natural sciences. In this course, the students learn the basics of Sets, Maps and Cardinality, with some topics on Probability.

「確率」をひとつの題材としながら、言語としての数学の基礎である「集合と写像」の扱いに習熟する。特に、集合と写像の言葉を用いて確率を適切に定義し、計算できるようになることを目標とする。

「確率」は日常的にもよく使われる単語であるが、数学では「集合と写像」の言葉を用いて、厳密に定義される。確率に限らず、自然科学を記述する言語としての数学では、集合と写像の言葉は必要不可欠である。この講義では、確率の基礎事項の学習と並行して、集合と写像および集合の濃度の基礎事項について学ぶ。
Probability is a usual word which is used in daily life. In mathematics, Probability is strictly defined in the words of Sets and Maps.
