Students will understand the relationships between universities/academism and science and technology from various perspectives. We will consider social issues involving science and technology as important and relevant for all of us living today beyond social and scientific distinctions.
How should we understand the various problems involving science and technology in modern society, such as nuclear energy, radiation exposure, genetic modification, and chemical pollution, etc. While unraveling the relationships between universities/academism and science and technology, we will introduce the perspectives of history and sociology of science and technology, and consider them from a social aspects. In addition, we will consider them in relation to the way of universities/academism.

大学・アカデミズムと科学技術の関係を多面的に理解する。文系・理系の区別を越えて，現代を生きる私たちみなにとって関わりのある，重要なものとして，科学技術の絡む社会的諸問題を考えるようにできることを目標とする。
Students will understand the relationships between universities/academism and science and technology from various perspectives. We will consider social issues involving science and technology as important and relevant for all of us living today beyond social and scientific distinctions.
原子力や放射能，遺伝子操作，化学物質汚染など，科学技術が絡む現代社会のさまざまな問題をどのように読み解けばよいのだろうか。大学・アカデミズムと科学技術との関係を解きほぐしながら，科学史や科学社会学などの科学技術論の視点を紹介し，社会的側面から考察する。また，それらを大学・学問のあり方と絡めて考えていく。
How should we understand the various problems involving science and technology in modern society, such as nuclear energy, radiation exposure, genetic modification, and chemical pollution, etc. While unraveling the relationships between universities/academism and science and technology, we will introduce the perspectives of history and sociology of science and technology, and consider them from a social aspects. | その他，講義時間中に随時，紹介する。 | |||||
授業中に使用するための配布資料（レジュメや参考資料）を「Canvas LMS」に電子ファイル形式でアップロードするので、自分のPCやタブレット等を持参して閲覧できるようにするか、またはプリントアウトして持参するようにすること。
授業形態：講義形式を中心とし，教材はテキストの一部分を参照しながら，適宜，レジュメや参考資料を配布，板書も利用する。受講者数や進捗具合を考慮しつつ，グループ・ディスカッションの機会を設ける予定である。参考資料の配布やリアクションペーパー・課題の提出などに授業支援システムの「Canvas LMS」を使用する。
フィードバック：各回のリアクションペーパーの内容について，次回の授業のはじめにフィードバックを行なう。
