The earth is a collection of huge natural science systems, and it is important to understand the global environment not by understanding each one individually, but in conjunction with each other. This course covers various aspects related to the earth's nature, with the goal of gaining knowledge and asking your own questions about the earth.
The course “Nature of the Earth” addresses a broad and voluminous body of subject matter. The Sciences of Geology, Astronomy, Meteorology and Oceanography are all included within the purview of Earth Science. Therefore, the following contents will be included in the overall curriculum but may be weighted to varying degrees in individual course sections.

地球は巨大な自然科学のシステムの集合体であり、それぞれを個別に理解するのではなく、相互に連携させながら理解することが、地球環境の理解には重要です。本コースでは、地球の自然に関わる様々な側面を取り上げ、知識を得るとともに、自分自身の地球への問いかけを持つことを目標としています。

本コースでは、広範囲にわたる膨大な主題を扱います。地質学、天文学、気象学、海洋学の科学はすべて地球科学の範囲内に含まれます。したがって、次の内容はカリキュラム全体に含まれますが、個々のコースセクションでは程度に応じて重み付けされる場合があります。

The course is offered in interactive lecture and seminar styles. There will be reading requirement of topics as suggested in class. Students will be required to do presentations at the end of course and students will be expected to prepare their presentations upon the outside of class.
