【Course Objectives】

In order to know and understand art – although it is almost unexplainable in itself –, we learn aesthetics and art history from the ancient Greek to the modern Impressionism, and everyone be able to describe works of art based on their own aesthetic judgment.

【Course Contents】

What does art mean to us? In order to know and understand art – although it is almost unexplainable in itself –, there is aesthetics and art history: the ideas and history on the beauty. In this class, we will trace the history of Western art from ancient Greece to 19th century Impressionism and learn to perceive beauties expressed in works of art.
