【Course Contents】

In this course, students will learn basic knowledge necessary to analyze the subject of religion in this continually globalizing society. We will start by considering fundamental questions, such as “What is globalization?” and “What is religion?” We will focus on religious education, which first appeared in modern societies with the separation of church and state. Historical changes and regional variations of this issue will be examined. We will also look at the cases of Germany and Japan.
