【Course Objectives】

Through learning specific topics in science and mathematics, students will learn about the history of science as well as its place in modern society. Students will also learn methods of thinking in a scientific manner, as well as basic fundamental principles and methodologies related to the natural sciences. Furthermore, students will gain a general vision of the natural sciences, which continue to develop at a high level. This discipline is part of the Introduction to Academic Studies subject group, which is part of one’s Introduction Phase.

【Course Contents】

Through the study of basic topics relating to mathematics, physics, and chemistry, students will learn the fundamental principles and methodologies that have spurred large advancements in the natural sciences from the past until the present. With regards to mathematics, the course will deal with topics relating to the prime numbers. In physics, we will touch upon the universe, matters, and elementary particles. As for chemistry, we will discuss chemistry of colors, biochemical imaging, and chemical simulations including AI. For each individual field, the aim is for students to marvel at the wonders contained, to enjoy the interesting properties studied, and to excite their intellectual curiosity for the natural sciences. Through learning these specific topics, students will understand various fundamental principles in the natural sciences while gaining a general vision of these fields, which continue to develop at a high level.
