【Course Objectives】

In this course, students will learn that collegiate studies are meant to set the basis to help them understand the reality of society, as wellas to help them find issues within it. In order to help them solve these issues, students will immerse themselves in various issues relatedto society, acquiring new viewpoints and the proper attitude along the way.

【Course Contents】

This subject is one of Rikkyo Service Learning (RSL) subjects.
First, lectures will be given on the history of Rikkyo University, learning in regular and extracurricular education, and service learning. Second, learn about the relationship between pedagogy and society and the ideas behind it, based on pedagogy. We will think about the role and efforts that education has played in the community, with a critical perspective. From the perspective of pedagogy, we will capture the modern society by going back and forth between the "past" and the "present." By doing so, we aim to cultivate the power to create the future. There will also be an opportunity (discussion) to discuss with others.

[note]
RSL aims to cultivate citizenship by understanding the community (thoughts and life culture in others and communities) and cultivating the ability to be involved in the community through on-site experience while utilizing one's own expertise. This subject is an introductory subject to RSL.
