A course for NEXUS Program students. To understand what it means to study at a university and to study at Rikkyo University as a place to start studying.
Students will be able to explain in their own words what a multiculturally convivial society looks like. In addition, by comparing the form of multicultural conviviality that Japan is aiming for and the methods used to achieve it with European, American, and Asian countries, and by understanding the characteristics of each, students will be able to explain in their own words what kind of attitude and action each individual in Japan should have in order to enable the diverse people living in Japan to live together in a truly harmonious manner. We will be able to express in our own words what kind of attitudes and actions each and every one of us in Japan should have in order to enable the diverse people living in Japan to truly live together. They will also be able to think about what Japanese universities should do in order to realize such a multiculturally convivial society in Japan and make proposals in their own words.

NEXUS Programの学生のための科目。大学で学び始めるにあたり、大学で学ぶこと、また立教大学という場で学ぶことの意味を理解する。

多文化共生社会とはどのような社会かを自分の言葉で説明することができる。また、日本が目指している多文化共生の形や実現のための方法をヨーロッパやアメリカ、アジアの国々と比較し、それぞれの特徴を知ることによって、日本に暮らす多様な人々が真の意味で共生していくことを可能にするためには、日本に暮らす一人ひとりがどのような態度を持ち、どのように行動していくべきか、自分の言葉で表現することができる。そして、そのような日本の多文化共生社会の実現のために、日本の大学は何をすべきかについて考え、自分の言葉で提案することができる。
