【Course Objectives】

The aim of the course is for each student to broaden their view of universities and reflect on their own student life.
The objectives are as follows:
1) Students will understand the past and current situation of university education and become able to express opinions on the topic.
2) Students will become able to express their thoughts about how they have related to university education in the past and how they will relate to it in the future.

【Course Contents】

Students will learn about the history and current situation of universities, and the social situation behind them, focusing on educational functions and student life. In the process, students will have an opportunity to reflect on their own campus life as appropriate.
The method of the course will be as follows:
1) Classes will be composed of lectures, video viewing, group work, and discussions, etc.
2) We will emphasize dialog among class participants (talking, listening, reading, and writing).
3) We will consider the number of students, and if possible, create opportunities for group presentations.
